V1: shoot, V2: shot, V3: shot. Okunuşu: /ʃuːt/. Düzensiz bir fiildir. Silah veya ok fırlatmak temel anlamıdır. Günlük dilde ‘film/fotoğraf çekmek’ veya ‘hızla gitmek’ anlamları da çok yaygındır. Yaygın Kullanım: ‘shoot the messenger’ (elçiye zeval olmaz – deyimin zıddı: elçiyi vurmak), ‘shoot for the stars’ (imkansızı hedeflemek).
