Gitmek
V1: go, V2: went, V3: gone. Okunuşu: /ɡəʊ/. Düzensiz bir fiildir. Konuşanın bulunduğu yerden başka bir yere doğru hareket etmek demektir. Nuans: ‘Come’ (gelmek) ile zıttır. İngilizcede ‘Been’ ve ‘Gone’ farkı çok kritiktir: ‘He has gone to Rome’ (Roma’ya gitti ve hala orada dönmedi), ‘He has been to Rome’ (Roma’da bulundu/gitti geldi). Yaygın Kullanım: ‘go with the flow’ (akışına bırakmak), ‘go the extra mile’ (elinden gelenin fazlasını yapmak).
