Konuşmak, hitap etmek, dil bilmek
V1: speak, V2: spoke, V3: spoken. Okunuşu: /spiːk/. Düzensiz bir fiildir. Bir dili konuşabilmek, bir topluluğa hitap etmek veya sesli kelimeler üretmek demektir. Nuans: ‘Talk’ (günlük karşılıklı sohbet) iken, ‘speak’ (daha resmi, önemli veya tek taraflı hitap) anlamındadır (Can I speak to the manager?). Diller için daima ‘speak’ (speak English) kullanılır. Yaygın Kullanım: ‘speak your mind’ (aklındakini açıkça söylemek / lafını esirgememek), ‘so to speak’ (tabiri caizse), ‘actions speak louder than words’ (ayinesi iştir kişinin lafa bakılmaz).
